System configuration

Admin → Settings → System configuration edits workspace-wide settings. Unlike most other admin pages, what you change here is stored in the workspace database, not in a file on the server.

Sections

System

Setting Effect
Time zone The workspace time zone. Timestamps are stored in UTC and shown in this zone when the user has no personal preference
Maximum session lifetime How long a session can last before the user has to sign in again
Expiration year The year used for date-related limits in the workspace

Preferences

Setting Effect
Default language The language used for users who have not chosen one

Proxy

If the workspace reaches external services through a proxy, set the host, port, user, and password. Leaving the password blank keeps the current one, so you can change the host without re-entering the secret.

Where these values live

This matters when a value seems to be ignored:

Store Who writes it Scope
Workspace database This page (and the other admin pages) The workspace
env.ini of the workspace Edited on the server, or written by the installer The workspace, and it takes precedence for the keys it defines
Global env.ini Legacy installations Deprecated; do not rely on it

Saving this page does not rewrite env.ini. If a key exists in both places, the file wins, and the page will look as if the change did not apply. The installer writes integration keys (RABBITMQ_*, the AI service URL) and the UTC time-zone flag, which is why those are not edited here.

Save

Review the values and save. The change applies to the whole workspace; session changes may require users to sign in again.
