Document viewer¶
The viewer opens documents without downloading them. It handles images, PDF, plain text, audio, video, and email files, and it keeps the file list in reach so you can move between documents.
Opening documents¶
- From a generated document step, the step shows the generated file with its format, page count for PDF, and size, plus its versions. You can preview it, or download it as PDF or DOC.
- From Uploaded documents or Generated documents in the case information, select a file to open the viewer.
- The arrows move to the next and previous file of the same list.
Controls by file type¶
| Type | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Image (JPG, PNG) | Zoom in and out, rotate, flip, use the mouse wheel and double click, and reset the view; the background is dark |
| Read it with its pages counted in the step or row | |
| Plain text | Read it as text |
| Audio (MP3) | Play, skip ±10 seconds, change speed, and mute, with the viewer's own player |
| Video (MP4) | Plays inside the viewing area |
Email (.eml, .msg) |
Sender, subject, and body, with accents and ñ rendered correctly, plus the attachment list |
Fullscreen expands the viewer and returns to the case when you leave it.
Side panel¶
The side panel shows the author, the file data (format, pages, size), where the file came from (step or task), the upload comment, and the versions of the document.
Email files¶
Outlook .msg and standard .eml files open with their text intact: accented
characters and ñ must not appear as ñ or ?. Each attachment is listed with its
name and can be downloaded and opened.
Generated documents and the case flow¶
On a generated document step, Previous step and Next step behave as in any other step, and the step triggers still run — variables and dependent documents are updated, not skipped.
