Branches¶
Branches are the physical locations or business units of the organization. A branch groups users and is used to filter by location.
Manage branches¶
- Open Administration → Branches.
- Choose New, or select a branch to edit.
- Fill in the fields below.
- Save.
Fields¶
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Code | Yes | Unique across branches; identifies the branch in imports and filters |
| Name | Yes | What users see in lists and filters |
| Description | No | Free text |
| Address, City | No | Postal address |
| Phone, Email | No | Contact details for the branch |
| Country | No | Chosen from the ISO country list |
| Subdivision | No | The country's states or provinces; the list depends on the country |
| Status | Yes | Active or Inactive |
The subdivision list is not free text: it comes from the country's ISO subdivisions, so you must pick a country before picking a subdivision.
Deactivate or delete¶
- Inactive hides the branch from the selection lists without touching the users assigned to it. Existing users keep their branch.
- Delete removes the branch. Users assigned to it stay, but their branch becomes empty, because the assignment is cleared rather than cascaded.
Before deleting, check the user list filtered by that branch: an empty branch is usually the safe one to remove.
