Language¶
Admin → Settings → Language lists the language packages installed in the workspace and lets you install, export, and remove them.
The list¶
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Language | The language name |
| Code | The locale code, for example es or en |
| Country | The country flag and name |
| Installed | When the package was installed |
| Entries | How many translated strings the package contains |
There is no New or Edit button: languages are not typed in by hand, they are installed from a package. Use the search box to filter the list.
Install or update a language¶
- Choose Install / Update.
- Pick a
.pofile (a.gzof the same file is also accepted). - Confirm.
The dialog explains the expected file and does not mention any other product. The button shows a progress state while the file is processed, then a summary reports the result and the list is updated.
An invalid file is refused with a message; nothing is installed and the list does not change. Installing a language that already exists updates it in place instead of adding a duplicate.
Export¶
Select a language and choose Export. Without a selection the button is disabled.
The download is named lurana.<code>.po, which can be edited and installed again.
This is the path to fix a translation: export, edit the entries, install the file back, and the interface uses the new strings for users of that language.
Delete¶
| Target | Result |
|---|---|
English (en) |
Refused: it is the base language |
| The language of your current session | Refused: you cannot remove the language you are using |
| Any other package | Deletion asks for confirmation, naming the code, and the language disappears from the list |
Deleting a package does not change the preference of users who had it selected; they fall back to the default language until another package is installed.
Default language¶
The language a new user gets comes from System configuration → Preferences. This page only manages the packages.
Permissions¶
This page requires PM_SETUP, together with the language-management permission.
