Document types

Document types define how a document is classified and where it is stored. Each type belongs to a document group and can define a path template and a title template.

Manage document types

  1. Open Administration → Document types.
  2. Choose New, or select a type to edit.
  3. Choose the group and repository.
  4. Define the path template with metadata placeholders.
  5. Optionally define the title template.
  6. Choose whether the metadata form is locked.
  7. Save.

Deep paths

Path templates can create deep hierarchies. Review the resulting path before you use the type in production.
